QFT

Somewhat contradictory message from ANET over past few days.

Almost 2 years and counting, without a decent trade system.

PS I am not a man.
Let's see. Farmers were complaining that their livelihood was being cut off. Then ANET compromises and basically gives you back all the more valuable stuff in gold items, greens, ectos, gems, etc etc and you STILL complain? That's the point here.

Complain complain and complain some more. I dont think I've seen one post of gratitude. Wow what a community.

those bold an italic words right there make me laugh.

It would be alot easier to sell things IF THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO SPAM IN TOWN FOR HOURS ON END.

yes, you dont NEED 15k armor, nor NEED expensive or shiny weapons, but you WANT them.

its this WANT, that drives people to solo farm for gold. people are not content with the bare minimum. they always WANT MORE.

now if there was no need to solo farm for gold so you don't have to grind for items you WANT, then there would be alot less farmers.

maybe if you introduced easier means of getting gold, or even adjusted quest mission rewards.

loot scaling? im sorry, but its a joke. people very seldom pug ever since the introduction of heros.

and since i mentioned heros, if we have to give them items/runes/upgrades, WHY ARE THEY GETTING LOOT ANYWAYS?

/sigh.

Admittedly it's Gaile's job to defend whatever the Dev team is doing, whether she understands the reasoning behind it or not. Clearly she didn't understand earlier which is why she had to ask them as mentioned in the post. A downsides of hiring a PR person instead of talking to your fans directly.... though I can't blame devs for not wanting to talk to most of the fans here.

Seems to make sense to me. A better trade system would help, current one isn't extremely bad though.

Of course, if they talked open and honestly, then perhaps they wouldn't need PR people? Just a thought.

Incidentally, I'm solo farming in area where I would traditionally get a gold or two every now and then, so far, its just a minute selection of non-max whites.

GG ANet. I deserve good itams!!!11 U GI3V S0J LOL!!1

This is going to encourage botting. Harder to get money=more ebayers. Plus, as I think anet saw with the last attempt at killing bots, the bots will find a way around it. They will either continue solo farming, or they will start running teams of bots. You can't kill the chinese farmers, you can kill the casual player.

Finally, I'm going to get back on troll farming :P.

Oh and just to let you know, most of cash can actually be from COLLECTABLE ITEMS TRADED WITH COLLECTORS AND THEN SELL THEM. So it still doesn't make a difference since these items are rare anyways.

On the face of it this seems like a reasonable attempt at compromise by ANET. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and give it a try.

For those complaining about an auction house...yeah it would be nice to have but there wasn't one before and it wasn't included in the update. Everyone hates spamming the WTS messages and this compromise may require some more of that but at least we have gotten small team/solo farming restored and that was the critical issue. Thanks for listening ANET.

Well I am happy again. I can farm my greens and my guildies can farm ectos, this should make 90+% of the people affected by loot scaling happy again.

How??

Solo farmers can farm all most everything again like nothing happened.
Solo Famers & Team players = same gold drop rate now (solo down from what it use to be)
HM Players = Better gold drop rate, better drop rate across the board..

If bots started to form "teams" they lose that 8x loot advantage

It still negatively impacts bot farmers compared to the previous state of the game.

They is a shift from solo farms to HM players with wealth disruption.

Sad.

Anet gives in to the whiners and people are still whining. What a world.

Hyperbole will get you nowhere.

On the other hand, if you're serious, pay more attention?

Count the number of people who complained and the people STILL complaining and count the number of people who actually expressed gratitude. I'm not far off in my slight exaggeration. There's no way you can say that people acted maturely at all.
